It's a fun new roster, and hopefully, one that Cable will be able to turn to again down the line. Cable quickly leads the team into conflict with the soldiers of Breakworld, decimating them with ease and making their way to a massive planet-sized gun - which is quickly stolen by the group to be used in the galactic fight against an invading Dormammu. The team is quick to resort to violence when they need to, with Khora quickly impressing Cable thanks to both her lethal skills with weapons as well as her natural mutant ability to boost the powers of other mutants. It even goes a long way towards impressing Khora, who as an Arakko Mutant is still somewhat slow to fully trust the X-Men and the rest of the mutants who call Krakoa home. Given the history of the team name and what it means to Boom-Boom and Wiz-Kid, it's a perfect team name to resurrect for their current mission. In reality, they were seeking out and rescuing young mutants, giving them a home and training them how to use their abilities. Hoping to disguise their purpose from a distrusting public, the team assumed the mantle of the mutant-hunting X-Terminators. The X-Terminators was the team name for the original roster of X-Factor - Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast, Angel and Iceman. They quickly dub themselves the All-New X-Terminators. To that end, he calls upon Cannonball, Boom-Boom, Wiz-Kid, Khora of the Burning Heart and Lila Cheney.

Made into the head of security for S.W.O.R.D., Cable quickly recruits a small team to help him with his assignment to capture a planet-sized war cannon from Breakworld. Cable - now fully returned after being briefly killed and replaced by a younger version of himself - even finds the opportunity to bring some of the old gang back together during the Last Annihilation. Those bonds still hold strong even in the modern era of Krakoa, when all the various X-Force veterans have found themselves on different paths in life. That original roster (Cannonball, Domino, Warpath, Shatterstar, Feral, and Boom-Boom) became close-knit allies and friends, working together to help Cable even when the rest of the X-Men doubted their intentions. When Cable first formally appeared in the modern-day in New Mutants #87 by Louise Simonson and Rob Liefeld, he quickly endeared himself to the then-New Mutants, inspiring them to come under his command and form the first incarnation of X-Force.
